Final Girl Press

Another near blogless month blasted by, dang!

Nevertheless, cool things abound. First and foremost, a new project. Well, sort of new. I forget if I alluded to the horror publishing company I was looking into fostering… if not, well, it has a name and a small initial crew of excited individuals meeting to push it forward. It is (or will be) called Final Girl Press, and its goal is to help evolve the horror genre away from male dominated narratives (especially in how it manifests in tropes around sexuality and female perspectives, roles, and characters).

As such, the publication will only accept work from authors who identify as women, who write stories that support these ideals.

Currently, we’re still in the early stages of figuring out how to structure the business and develop systems of success.

In other news, in about a month Hunting Midnight will have its first birthday! Current total wordcount (not counting cuts, revisions) is 148,000 and change. In a month’s time, I’m sure it’ll be neat the milestone zone of 150K–not too shabby for a year’s worth of effort, considering three episode are successfully self-published to date as well. If by January 2019 I have the whole thing done with a solid edit (possibly paid? yikes!) and paperback available, well, I’ll be stoked. Seems a reasonable goal!
