Traded the gym for some crit work today. Got home around 6ish, and was either going to hit up Goodlife or keeping writing, depending on where my momentum was come 8ish. I dug into a crit and bashed out 2,500 words for it (67% of its length or so, I am a verbose critter)… so suffice to say the keyboard ousted the weights today. All is well so long as I get to the gym 3/7 days in a week; I’m currently not on a strict training schedule or anything like that (soon perhaps!)

Going to try to transfer that crit energy into my own writing… while crits are important and I did promise the author I’d do it, I am a little self-critical of not directing the energy into my own words. Only a reflection! It did feel good to get deep into thinking about stories and editing after the weekend of low-output.

Success! About 1,250 words: one new scene in ep3 and a nice bridge scene that smooths out the gap between ep1 and ep2. They are technically the same contained story (like a two part pilot, I guess?) so it was a different formula than I’m planning to use for fully contained episodes (a basic recap to onboard Readers who may not jump right from ep1 to ep2).

Also plan on doing some beat plotting for the rest of ep3 before I sleep. One major pacing/timing wrinkle to tackle since the endpoint was pretty clear.
